The first place we ate at was a little restaurant called Los Arcos in Cancun. While the food was very good, and abundant, the restaurant seemed to have a similar feeling of a Mexican restaurant in America. I liked all the decorations that different Mexican restaurants display. This particular one had several photos of awesome classic rock bands, like Aerosmith, the Doors, and Slash from Guns n’ Roses.
I was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was at the center, most days. Some of the best were this fried chicken stuffed with cheese and ham, the fish fry, and the chicken fajitas day. There was always so much of the yummy food and I always ate way too much. I found it most interesting how much more delicious simple things like tortillas and fruit were down in Mexico. The oranges and limes were some of the best citrus fruit I have ever eaten, and I rarely eat a lime by itself.
I thought it was nice how they tried to appeal to our “American” tastes like hamburgers and spaghetti but I would have much rather preferred some more authentic Mexican food.
